Where We EAT: Ca Na Marola Restaurant, S'Estanyol de Migjorn

The power of social media, someone at this Restaurant is winning at the game, especially Instagram where high quality images will always attract costumers. This does not always translate into what you actually get when you step foot in the establishment. Ca Na Marola delivers above and beyond those mouth watering photos you see online.
Located in a very quiet fishing town there isn't much to S'Estanyol de Migjorn. A few streets and a small harbor packed with those adorable Llaüts we love so much. Everything about this Restaurant screams, STOP... take some pictures here, we cook delicious seafood just by passing by the front terrace. It's light and airy and inviting with a traditional fishermen kitchen.
Below you can find the whole story of Ca Na Marola.

We thought we'd order berberechos to start as they are my absolute favorite and although they were delicious in a simple garlic, white wine liquid I prefer them with just a hit of really good Olive Oil and sea salt. The bowl was overflowing with the tiny shells, and we soaked up the liquid with the dense bread. Then came the Parrillada which is a variety of fresh grilled seafood. We also requested the llampuga (mahi-mahi) as these just came in to season in the beginning of September and it was pure heaven. Garlic, parsley and olive oil and grilled to perfection, don't forget the squeeze of lemon.

I have always wanted to try "Calamares Rellenos" or Stuffed Calamari. This dish was heavy, and normal eaten during the winter months but something about it told me I should try it here. The rich broth lightly coated the potatoes and the calamari was just the right amount of tender.

It seems to be the place to be on a Saturday and Sunday so reservations are a must! (you can even do this online) http://canamarola.com/en/reservation/
Although on Friday lunch we almost had the whole place to ourselves. So if you are looking for local, authentic seafood cuisine this is my number one spot.
It just felt like home, but fancier!
Our meal for 2 persons with bread, olives, water and 1 starter, 2 entrees with dessert = 66.30EUROS. Every single bite was worth it!

LTMTip: They have a traditional Menorcan Dish on the menu that will really make you feel like you've taken a mini trip to our sister island. Caldereta de llangosta is not to be missed.
